A description of the Work of this project can be summarized to include interior renovations to a portion of the basement level of the Physical Science Building. The Work includes selective demolition and construction to provide new general laboratory, office, and workshop spaces. Improvements include new interior finishes, casework, and upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and data systems. The project also includes the installation of a new metal stair assembly. All Work shall be completed in accordance with the Contract Documents and all applicable codes and regulations, with careful coordination to minimize disruption to adjacent occupied areas. A Public Works Contractors License for the State of Idaho is required to bid on this Work. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount, including any add alternates, is required. Work includes the installation of new architectural finishes such as flooring, ceilings, wall systems, doors, and casework, consistent with adjacent building standards and current university design guidelines. Laboratory equipment, casework, and associated utilities, including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, will be replaced or reconfigured to accommodate flexible laboratory use. Building systems, including lighting, power distribution, HVAC, and data, will be upgraded to improve functionality, energy efficiency, and code compliance. The project also includes installation of a new metal stair assembly with structural supports, handrails, and finishes to enhance vertical circulation and meet current life safety requirements. All work shall be executed in accordance with the Contract Documents, applicable codes, and governing authority requirements, with careful coordination to minimize disruption to adjacent occupied areas.
