Renovation of an educational facility in Sedalia, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
State Fair Community College (SFCC) is seeking qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, and equipment required for the removal of existing flooring and installation of new industrial-grade epoxy flooring within approximately 5,500 square feet of campus space located in Sedalia, Missouri. The intent of this project is to ensure a durable, low maintenance, and professional-grade floor surface suitable for heavy foot traffic and industrial use. Work must be completed during the summer of 2026 to ensure minimal impact to students. Earliest Start Date is June 16, 2026, and must be completed no later than August 3, 2026 Proposals must include a timeline with the number of working days required to complete the project from start to finish, including curing time. Normal Business Hours consists of Monday thru Friday 8am - 5pm, if work needs to be conducted outside normal business hours prior approval will be required. The contractor shall provide a detailed project plan including an estimated timeline from start to finish. A list of similar refinishing projects completed in the past 12 months Contact information for at least three (3) references from recent clients Detailed description of materials and equipment to be used to include Safety Data Sheets and Manufactures Instructions. Warranty information on workmanship and materials. Business Insurance policy information (Name/Policy number) 2 Total project cost to include labor, materials, and any optional services. Site Preparation - Conduct site inspection prior to work commencement. - Move and protect furnishings and equipment as necessary. - Remove and properly dispose of existing floor covering and adhesive materials. - Prepare substrate per manufacturer specs, including grinding, patching, and cleaning. - Remove existing cove base material and dispose of. Epoxy Flooring Installation o Supply and install a two-part industrial epoxy system with slip-resistant finish. o Apply epoxy to achieve a minimum 1/8-inch total system thickness (primer, base coat, and topcoat). o Provide color and finish samples for approval prior to installation. o Ensure uniform coverage, bonding, and curing per product specifications. o Install new cove base o Install transition strips when required. post-installation o Inspect final surface for uniformity and quality. o Remove debris and restore work areas to clean conditions. o Provide written maintenance instructions and product warranty documentation. Materials and Standards o Approved epoxy products must meet or exceed ASTM C884 and ASTM D4060 standards for adhesion and abrasion resistance. o All products must be low-VOC and compliant with EPA and Missouri Department of Natural Resources regulations. 3 o Recommended brands: Sherwin-Williams ArmorSeal(R), Tennant Coatings(R), or approved equivalent. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE The Director of Facilities (Justin H. David) or designated SFCC Representative have the right to reject defective workmanship, materials or work not performed as per the project specifications. Only an SFCC designated representative may accept work performed by the contractor.
