Site work for a water / sewer project in Buffalo, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The project requires consultants to provide design and construction administration services for replacing the steam distribution system for the entire campus at the State University of New York College at Buffalo. The campus is currently heated by a steam distribution system where steam is produced by boilers in the Central Heating Plant and distributed via piping that is either direct buried or encased in box or walkable tunnels. The underground infrastructure, installed between 1959 and 2013, involves both steam and condensate piping that has exceeded its useful life and is experiencing frequent leaks. The scope of work includes replacement of sections of the existing steam piping, condensate piping, manholes, pumps, and pressure reducing valves within walkable tunnels and box tunnels, as well as the removal of hazardous materials. The estimated construction value is approximately $22,208,000.
