Sealed bids are to be received for Project No. 2023-726, Capital Project No. 3019, Sale Road Bridge Repair, City of Lake Charles, LA. All bids must be submitted on the proper bid form or electronic bid form. Contractors must display their license number on the outside of the envelope for paper bids. Bids received after the specified opening time will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, may be examined at the office of the Engineer or obtained upon payment. An electronic original set of construction documents is available upon request at no cost. Deposits on the first set of documents furnished to bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return in good condition no later than ten days after receipt of bids. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the City of Lake Charles totaling five percent of the base bid and all alternates. Bid bonds must meet specific requirements regarding the surety or insurance company. The check or bid bond is a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract in conformity with the contract documents within fifteen days of the Notice of Award. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract amount, written by an approved surety or insurance company. Contractors for Hazardous Materials work must be licensed for any amount.
