Site work for a water / sewer project in Westport, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The project consists of upgrading two wastewater pump stations in Westport, Washington. Work at Pump Station 4 includes rehabilitation and revisions to the existing wet well, installation of new submersible pumps, a new valve vault, and a new saddle manhole. Work at Pump Station 5 includes modification of the existing wet well to serve as an influent manhole, installation of a new wet well with new submersible pumps and a new valve vault, installation of a new 12-inch gravity sewer line between the new wet well and the influent manhole, and a 12-inch culvert to allow storm drainage in the existing drainage ditch at the entrance to the new pump station. Both stations require all associated piping, electrical, and instrumentation work, as well as bypass pumping and other temporary measures needed for construction. The work must be substantially complete within 180 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. Proposals must be submitted only on the form provided with the Bid Documents and must be accompanied by a certified check, postal money order, cashier's check, or proposal bond payable to the City of Westport in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total proposal amount. All work must be performed in compliance with the contract provisions, contract plans, and any addenda. Additional instructions include requirements for registration to receive addenda, coordination for site visits, compliance with prevailing wage rates, and licensing to conduct business in the State of Washington. The work specified in this Section consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for construction of the Pump Station 4 and 5 Upgrades, as shown on the Plans, and hereinafter specified. Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: A. Furnishing and installation of noise attenuated temporary bypass pumping and piping. B. Demolition and waste hauling of existing pump station mechanical and electrical equipment. C. Demolition and waste hauling of existing valve vaults, wet well lids, and fencing at both pump stations. D. Performing site clearing, grubbing and tree removal. E. Performing surface preparation and restoration of interior of Pump Station 4 wet well and apply surface coatings. F. Converting existing Pump Station 5 wet well into an influent manhole by pouring concrete to lowest gravity invert, providing drop connections, channeling to divert wastewater to the new wet well, and installing a new ladder, topping slab with manhole cover. G. Furnishing and installation of new Pump Station 5 wetwell including cutting shoe, and reinforced bottom slab above a tremie grout seal. H. Furnishing and installation of new concrete wet well lid and aluminum hatch. I. Furnishing and installation of saddle manhole at Pump Station 4. J. Furnishing and installation of new submersible centrifugal pumps, rails and appurtenances. K. Furnishing and installation of new valve vaults including aluminum hatches with fall protection grating. L. Furnishing and installation of all required piping and valves, including bypass connections in the valve vaults. M. Furnishing and installation of all required electrical, instrumentation, and telemetry work including receptacle and manual transfer switch for connection of the City's portable generator. N. Construct required site grading and paving. O. Restore all surfaces disturbed by construction activities. P. Furnishing and installing new site fencing, gates, and lighting. Q. Painting of new mechanical piping. R. Provide testing, commissioning, and training as specified herein. S. Provide all associated work as shown on the Plans and specified herein, for a complete and workable system
