Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Brooksville, Florida. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade water / sewer project; and 2,500-square-foot, one-story above grade office development.
The project consists of building a new water reclamation facility adjacent to an existing wastewater treatment plant, which must remain active until the new facility's final completion and acceptance. The existing plant is 0.75 MGD, and the new facility is 2.0 MGD, with a bid alternate for an additional 1.0 MGD, allowing for a total capacity of 3.0 MGD if the alternate is awarded. The new facility will be constructed within the existing rapid infiltration basin number 2, which must be taken offline, while rapid infiltration basin number 1 remains active. New rapid infiltration basins will also be constructed, with clean fill from the site used in construction. The Emergency Operations Structure component consists of constructing an approximately 2,500 square foot concrete split face block building, which will include office space, a large conference room, breakroom, restrooms, and mechanical/SCADA rooms. This building will serve as the office for the new water reclamation facility and as a staff space during declared emergencies, with backup power provided by the generator installed with the new facility.
