Remodeling of an educational facility in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 86,311-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.

Sealed proposals are invited for the construction, repair, and/or installation related to the Kurtz Opportunity Center Remodel for the Des Moines Independent Community School District. Bids must be submitted on the approved bid form found in the plans and specifications. Each bid must include a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or certified credit union share draft in a separate envelope totaling five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Only lump-sum bids will be accepted under a single contract as described in the specifications. The Board of Directors reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, waive informalities, and award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Work is to commence immediately after the contract award and be completed and ready for operation not later than the specified days after the notice to proceed, subject to extensions granted by the Board. Bidders must comply with applicable Iowa Code and Board Policies, and preference will be given to Iowa products, provisions, and domestic labor. Via their On-Line Plan Room, or for printed sets by calling Beeline and Blue from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (or their posted normal operating hours) and upon depositing the sum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for each set of the Bid Documents. Deposit checks shall be made out to Des Moines Independent Community School District. The entire deposit will be refunded to bona fide Bidders upon the return of the Documents, in good condition to Beeline and Blue, within fourteen (14) days after award of the contract(s). Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check or certified credit union share draft in a separate envelope in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Work under the proposed contract shall be commenced immediately after the award of the contract and shall be completed and ready for operation not later than 1 calendar days after the notice to proceed, subject to any extension of time which may be granted by the Board of Directors.
