Renovation of a religious / funeral development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a religious / funeral development.
DBE/TSB Goal for this project is 5.72% The Glendale Abbey Exterior Improvements project is intended to restore the Abbey exterior, which has deteriorated over the past 100 years. The work includes removal of the polyurethane foam roofing, installation of a new white TPO roofing membrane over new insulation and coverboard, inspection of the concrete structure and stone veneer for damage after removal of the foam roofing in coordination with the construction manager and architect, repair and restoration of any deteriorated areas as determined, repointing and repairing exterior masonry on the parapets and sidewalls, addition of new scuppers and flashing, installation of new gutter and downs on the north side of the building, and as an alternate, replacement of the dome roofing with a solid copper, seamed roof, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 671-123/134, located at Glendale Cemetery, 4903 University Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Bidders must file sealed proposals by the specified deadline and ensure that their bids are accompanied with bid security as defined by Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code. Sales tax should not be included, as a sales tax exemption certificate will be provided for all material incorporated in the project. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, as required by law.
