Renovation of a communication facility in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade communication facility.

The project involves the relocation of the Roof Top Unit (RTU) serving the 4F skywalk, which is currently on top of Brown's Garage structure. Due to the planned demolition of this garage in 2026, the RTU must be moved to a salvaged section of the skywalk corridor to the west. The contractor is responsible for relocating electrical, gas, and HVAC ducts to provide a fully functional solution. The contractor must also provide third-party Testing and Balancing review of the existing unit upon completion. All work shall comply with the contract documents, including Plan File No. 671-165/168, and shall be constructed in accordance with SUDAS Standard Specifications, 2025 Edition, as modified by supplemental specifications and special provisions. Bidders must complete the work as specified and in accordance with proposal completion provisions. Bidders unable to perform the work per these provisions should not submit a proposal. The Jurisdiction reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Engineers construction estimate is $92,000. The owner of this parking garage is planning on Demolishing the building in the spring of 2026 requiring the City of Des Moines to move the RTU. This project will be to relocate the RTU to the salvaged section of skywalk corridor to the west. The contractor shall relocate electrical, gas, and HVAC ducts to provide a fully functional solution. The contractor shall provide 3rd party Testing and Balancing review of the existing unit when complete, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 671-165/168, 4F Skywalk located north of Brown's Garage Building on Grand Avenue between 4th and 5th Avenue and other locations directed by the City Engineer, Des Moines, IA 50309.
