Renovation of a parking garage in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
This project will modify the existing roof and gutter system, install new snow bar guards along the roof, abrade and repaint all exterior steel on Skywalk 2Ca, 2C-2D and 2C-3C above 3rd Avenue. The skywalk spans from the Civic Center to the 3rd & Court parking garage and the Neal Smith Federal Building and The Plaza. The project will also replace the fire doors in the skywalk over 4th Street and Grand Avenue, all in accordance with the contract documents, including Plan File No. 671-169/177, for Skywalk 2Ca, 2C-2D and 2C-3C located above 3rd Avenue between Walnut Street and Court Avenue and other locations directed by the City Engineer. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as specified by the Jurisdiction. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. Sales tax should not be included in the bid. Completion of the project shall be not later than July 31, 2026.
