Renovation of a transportation facility in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Refurbishment of four of the existing multi-zone air handlers (MZ Units) serving the Concourses, which includes installing new fans and casing, cleaning coils, coating drain pans, and installing new filtration. Temporary ventilation and cooling is required while each MZ unit is out of service. Refurbishment of two cooling towers, including overhaul of motor and gear boxes and replacement of fill. Electrical power and building automation controls work as required to support the refurbished air handlers and cooling towers. Each bidder must accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish, after the award of contract, corporate Surety Performance and Payment Bond(s) for the faithful performance of the contract in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish corporate Surety Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price, which shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract, prompt payment of all material and labor, and guarantee maintenance for a period of two (2) years from acceptance of the contract. Bids may be held for up to 30 days for evaluation and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. Failure to submit a fully completed and accurate Bidder Status Form may result in the proposal being deemed non-responsive and being rejected. Bidders should not include sales tax in the bid. A sales tax exemption certificate will be provided for the materials purchased for the project. Preference will be given to products, provisions, and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and resident bidder preference will be as required by law. All prime contractors planning to submit a bid must attend at least one of the mandatory site tours.
