The work consists of, but is not limited to: coordination with City and private property owners; point (spot) repairs of sanitary sewer line at various locations; pipe-bursting of approximately 2,567 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe ranging from 6-inch to 20-inch diameter; traditional open-trench replacement of approximately 2,108 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe from 6-inch to 24-inch diameter; reconstruction of all lower laterals including lateral connections to the main and two-way cleanouts (approximately 2,250 linear feet); removal of existing maintenance holes and construction of new ones, including excavation, lining, and related work; rehabilitation of existing maintenance holes; pressure testing sewer mains for leaks (including all lower laterals), locating leaks and performing spot repairs; abandonment of sanitary sewer mains and structures as indicated in plans; compliance with the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) and engineer satisfaction; preparation and implementation of bypass plans to maintain uninterrupted sewer service during construction; cold planning of existing asphalt and hot mix asphalt paving; development of Traffic Control Plans prioritizing pedestrian and bicycle safety and access, and bus facilities over vehicular traffic in alignment with City policies; and compliance with work site restrictions in City of Berkeley Fire Zone 2. Bidders must coordinate closely with various stakeholders and plan for traffic and service continuity throughout the project.
