This project is the third phase of a multi-phase plan to replace existing lead service lines in the City of Calumet City. Approximately 300 lead service lines will be replaced with new copper service lines. Construction will consist of full-service line replacements from the water main to the water meter inside the building and partial line replacements from either the water main to the buffalo box or the buffalo box to the water meter inside the building. Work also involves the restoration of miscellaneous areas disturbed by construction, including but not limited to pavement, driveways, and landscaping. Instructions to bidders include: Bidding documents are available on the designated website, and prospective bidders should register as plan holders. No pre-bid conference will be held. Bid clarifications and questions should be submitted in writing via email. All proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond, cash, or certified check for 5% of the total base bid. The successful bidder must file a performance bond equal to 100% of the bid. Bidders must comply with applicable federal and state requirements, including labor standards, anti-kickback provisions, equal employment opportunity, and Section 3 requirements for affirmative action and local hiring.
