Renovation of a mixed-use development in Calumet City, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.
This project titled "Life Safety Improvements" consists of the following major elements: 1. Carpentry work; 2. Sealant and caulking work; 3. Painting and coating work; 4. Plumbing work; 5. Mechanical work; 6. Electrical work; 7. All other work indicated on the drawings and in the project manual for this project. B. All work on this project will be awarded to one prime contractor per school or a combined bid for both schools as determined by the Owner. C. Any required asbestos abatement work in existing school building will be performed by a separate abatement contractor under the direction of the Owner's consultant. Question Deadline 02/08/2026 If any person contemplating submitting a bid be in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the drawings and specifications, said person may request an interpretation thereof the architect in writing. Bids are requested for three bid packages: Carpentry and General Construction, Mechanical, and Electrical. The bidding documents, including drawings and specifications, are available electronically through the office of the Architect. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided and accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check made payable to the Owner for not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal amount. Contractors and subcontractors must pay prevailing wages as established by the Illinois Department of Labor and comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Illinois Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act. The successful bidder must file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity against claims for damages to persons or property is required during construction until final acceptance. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
