The scope of work requires periodic testing and inspection of various fire systems including fire alarm systems, commercial kitchen hood fire systems, emergency and exit lighting, and fire sprinkler systems at various state-aided and federally funded public housing developments owned and operated by the New Bedford Housing Authority in New Bedford, Massachusetts. All tests and inspections must comply with the latest editions of relevant NFPA codes and regulations, including but not limited to NFPA 25, NFPA 17A, NFPA 72, and NFPA Standard 101, Chapter 31 as amended. The selected vendor must have the capacity, qualifications, experience, personnel, and equipment capable of performing the specified work. The contract term is three years. Bidders are encouraged to view the project sites before bidding, with a self-guided walkthrough available on a specified date, or at other times by announcing themselves to the property managers. Sealed bids must be delivered to the NBHA Procurement Agent in a clearly marked envelope by the specified deadline. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty days without NBHA consent. The contract will be awarded to the responsible and responsive bidder offering the best price, subject to applicable laws and regulations. The NBHA reserves the right to reject any and all bids if required or in the public interest, and may waive any informality in the bids.
