Contract 1, Elevated Water Storage Tank involves replacing the existing water storage tank that serves the western end of Elkin, the eastern part of Wilkes County, and the Town of Ronda with a 500,000-gallon elevated spheroidal water storage tank and appurtenances. Bidders must submit sealed formal bids for the Town of Elkin West Elkin Water Tank Replacement project. Bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid, made payable to the Owner. All questions related to this bid must be submitted in writing prior to the specified deadline. Bidders must be licensed as required by North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 87. The Owner reserves the right to reject any/all bids, to waive formalities, or to reject nonconforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. The Owner encourages bids from small, minority and female, disadvantaged business enterprise, and historically underutilized businesses. Bidders are required to submit affidavits of "Good Faith Efforts" in recruiting MBEs.
