Site work for a water / sewer project in Elkin, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project involves installation of new water mains, involving approximately 5,000 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main and approximately 2,360 linear feet of 10-inch DIP water main. Bid alternates are included as detailed in the Bid Schedule. These alternates provide options to add or delete scope related to horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crossings of Highway 268 West at Memorial Park Drive and near Pleasant Hill Road, substituting HDD-installed 12-inch HDPE or Fusible PVC water mains for portions of the base bid open cut or bore & jack pipe. As part of the bidding requirements and selection of the HDD method, the Contractor shall submit the NCDOT HDD Form and Fracking Contingency Plan as a shop drawing for NCDOT approval prior to commencing any HDD work within the NCDOT right of way. EPA MBE/WBE participation goals: MBE 10.9% WBE 10.4% All questions related to this bid shall be submitted in writing to Lauren Rudd at lrudd@withersravenel.com prior to 2:00 PM (Time) local time on January 8, 2026 to receive consideration. Contract 2, Water Transmission Main includes the replacement and upsizing of nearby water main supply lines, involving approximately 5,000 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main, 2,850 linear feet of 10-inch DIP water main.
