Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
The scope of work includes developing plans for parks in need of updates as per recommendations in the Cedar Falls Park Master Plan. This includes a city-wide specialty park assessment to determine the best location for amenities such as a skate & action sports park, splash pad, and a dog park, as well as ongoing design and renovation of existing parks to align with recreational trends. The design efforts will involve neighborhood involvement to imagine amenities such as active and passive recreation, restrooms, shelters, lighting, parking, shade trees, off-leash dog areas, and walkable paths/connections. The intent is to activate the parks and ensure their ongoing use and utility. The scope may include developing conceptual designs for public review, refining designs based on input, producing final construction drawings, and overseeing construction if necessary. Qualified firms should have experience in parks and recreation planning, project management, landscape architecture and design, and effective public involvement processes. Selected firms will work closely with City staff on all park design projects to be outsourced during the designated fiscal years.
