Rock River and Lake Kosh konong Buoy Installation and Removal The placement and removal of the navigational, slow-no-wake and hazard buoys for the 2026 & 2027 seasons is available for bid. The contractor, if awarded the bid will be responsible for 2 yrs of service. 1. Place and remove up to (47) navigational, slow-no-wake and hazard buoys on the Rock River and Lake Kosh konong from the Indian ford Dam to north of Falk Rd in Jefferson County. Please reference the map provided. 2. Buoy placement and identification will be provided via GPS coordinates, a map and a numbering system. Buoys will be physically numbered according to placement and GPS coordinates. 3. Placement of buoys shall be completed by May 1st of the year of contract provided the water level is at or below 778 ft as recorded at gauge #05427235 at Lake Koshkonong near Newville. Installation of buoys will be completed seven (7) days prior to the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, regardless of water depth. 4. Removal of buoys shall be completed no earlier than October 15th and no later than October 30th. Removal of buoys is not subject to water level restrictions. 5. Off-season storage of the buoys will be at the Department of Natural Resources Station at Newville or another suitable location to be determined. 6. Contractor will provide proof of insurance with bid submission for a minimum of $1M and provide indemnification for Rock Koshkonong Lake District. 7. Contractor will possess all equipment necessary for the proper removal, installation, and handling of buoys. 8. Contractor will inspect buoys and report any necessary maintenance or repairs to the RKLD at the time of installation and/or removal. 9. Any repairs or maintenance can be quoted to RKLD, and if awarded, needs to be completed in a timely manner.10. Payment for the installation and/or removal will be made within 30 days after approval by the Board of Commissioners. 11. RKLD reserves the right to modify the installation and removal dates as weather and water levels fluctuate. Any deviation from the installation and removal dates must be approved by the RKLD Board of Commissioners. 12. Note: Buoy, tether, and anchor combined may weigh up to 200 lbs.
