Site work for a water / sewer project in Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The scope of work includes but is not limited to approximately 37 full lead service line replacements from water main to interior water meter, and all other appurtenant work and materials necessary to complete the project throughout the City of Elgin as set forth in the bid documents. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price as security for the faithful performance and payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. The successful bidder and all sub-contractors shall be required to conform to the labor standards set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wage and shall provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project. This project must comply with the Elgin Responsible Bidders Ordinance and Elgin Residency Requirements. The bidder shall submit, if requested by the City, a list of qualified references for projects of similar size and scope of this project. Proposals withdrawn may not be resubmitted at the same letting. Each bidder shall satisfy the City as to their ability, financially or otherwise, to carry out the work. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive technicalities and any informality in any bid. Pay for permit at the Finance Department and request a new water meter installation work order (new set), specifying day and time, contact name and phone number. 3. The Meter Shop will install the new water meter on the scheduled day providing the following conditions have been met. a. For 5/8" thru 1" water meters all plumbing must be in place and correct for the Meter Shop personnel to install the water meter. b. For 1.5" or larger water meters, an inspection of the plumbing must be made by Meter Shop personnel, then the water meter will be given to the contractor to install. c. The building or house address #'s must be permanently attached and visible. d. The b-box or vault is identified and key-able. If you have any questions please contact the Meter Shop at 847-931-6162. 2.54-Mile) Designed Overlay, New Shoulders, and ADA Improvements: The proposed consists of cold milling existing (HMA) surface, full-depth patches (Class D), resurfacing (inlay) with HMA binder and surface course, longitudinal joint sealing, replacement of curb and gutter, sidewalk removal and replacement for for sidewalks (ADA), replacement of existing aggregate shoulders with HMA, drainage structures adjustments and cleaning, pavement markings and raised reflective Location: IL 25 (Saint Charles Street), from Bluff City Boulevard to 0.4 Miles North of Stearns Road within the City of Elgin Landscaping work falls under the existing classifications for laborer, operating engineer and truck driver. The work performed by landscape plantsman and landscape laborer is covered by the existing classification of laborer. The work performed by landscape operators (regardless of equipment used or its size) is covered by the classifications of operating engineer. The work performed by landscape truck drivers (regardless of size of truck driven) is covered by the classifications of truck driver IDOT will be resurfacing RT 25 from approximately Stearns Road to Bluff City Blvd (Contract 62K78; see Appendix F of the bidding documents) starting April 1, 2026. IDOT is aware of the LSLR project schedule and will start their work near Stearns Road to avoid overlap with the LSLR project.
