Renovation of a library in Ewing, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
The project is for the Library Spirit Shop Renovation and will be bid as a Single Lump Sum. The scope includes maintaining the college library as fully operational throughout the construction period, with the facility occupied and in daily use by students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Contractors must ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment, secure construction areas, promptly remove debris, and minimize noise, dust, and disruptions. Insulated temporary partitions must be constructed and installed for sound separation between the Reading Room and the Library Main Entry Foyer, without damaging existing millwork and with restoration to original condition after project completion. The contractor must also remove an existing exterior window and install a weather-tight, secure temporary construction entrance door with a combination lock set, coordinating installation and access with the Owner. An allowance of $50,000 should be included in the bid for unforeseen items not anticipated in the design documents. Bidders must comply with requirements of various state laws and regulations, including Affirmative Action, New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Public Works Contractor Registration, New Jersey Business Registration of Public Contractors, and must have DPMC C008 or C009 classification. A bid guarantee of 10% of the total bid is required, and the successful bidder must provide a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder who meets the qualification criteria. The College of New Jersey reserves the right to reject all bids or waive minor informalities. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid opening without consent. Contractors and vendors must ensure that Small Business Enterprises and Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses have opportunities to participate.
