The work consists of sidewalk removal and replacement of PCC sidewalk, miscellaneous curb and gutter repair, driveway, and parkway restoration for various streets within the City. Proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Office of City Engineer, City of Chicago Heights, 1601 Chicago Road, Chicago Heights, Illinois, 60411. The envelope shall bear the name and address of the bidder and notation that the contents are 'Proposal for 2026 SIDEWALK PROGRAM.' The envelope shall contain all documents requested in the Proposal's Instructions to Bidders. Each bid shall be accompanied by a proposal guaranty in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Illinois payable without condition to the Owner in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount as a guarantee that the Bidder will within fifteen (15) days after the date of the award of a contract execute an agreement and file bond and insurance as required by the Contract Documents if their bid is accepted. Each prospective Bidder shall furnish a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility as issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as required by the Contract. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). It is the responsibility of the bidder to inspect the entire bid package and seek clarification of any item that may not be clear to them.
