The work consists of, but is not limited to, abandoning and removing existing water main piping and appurtenances, furnishing and installing new water main piping and appurtenances, repair of the trench and asphalt, adjustment of water valve boxes, traffic control, water pollution control, and all related work. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals for the work, complete in place. The contractor is responsible for commencing work and related services upon receipt of a written Notice to Proceed and shall ensure sufficient and qualified personnel, equipment, and materials are provided. Sealed proposals must be submitted on the forms provided by the Public Works Department, Engineering Division, and include all requested information. Unauthorized conditions, limitations, or provisions attached to a proposal will render it informal and may cause rejection. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond, for at least 10% of the amount bid. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each for 100% of the bid amount, are required from the successful bidder. Bidders must possess a Class A license at the time the bid is submitted. All contractors and subcontractors must have a City Business Registration Certificate before contract execution. The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder.
