The project consists of selective demolition within portions of two district elementary schools for the purpose of making handicap accessible upgrades. Both Hooverville and Summitview will receive new elevators, Hooverville's in a new building addition and Summitview's within the existing building's footprint. Further, Summitview will receive a new exterior handicap accessible ramp and a new exterior stair down to the school's playground. Both buildings will also be renovated to provide handicap accessible toilets. Generally, the new construction consists of load bearing masonry, steel joists and metal deck, masonry veneer, exterior metal wall panels, EPDM membrane roofing, aluminum storefront systems and interior finishes.
