The project is for the 2026 HMA Resurfacing Program Phase 1 in West Des Moines, Iowa. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials required for approximately 1,749 linear feet of PCC curb and gutter replacement, 6,726 tons of asphalt overlay surface course, 1,030 tons of asphalt overlay 1/2 " mix leveling course, 2,142 tons of asphalt overlay 3/8" mix intermediate course, 11,202 square yards of 7" reinforced PCC full depth patching, intake adjustments, manhole adjustments, sidewalk reconstruction, traffic control, and other miscellaneous work within the City of West Des Moines, Iowa. All work must be done in strict compliance with the approved plans and specifications. Bids must be submitted electronically by the specified deadline using the form provided by the City. Each bid shall be accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a cashier's or certified check in an amount equal to 10% of the total bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance and payment bond equal to 100% of the contract price and a four-year maintenance guarantee after acceptance. Preference will be given to products and labor from Iowa as per state statutes. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive. Work must commence within ten days of written notice to proceed and be completed by the contract deadline, or liquidated damages will apply. Payment will be made monthly based on the value of work completed, with final payment in accordance with Iowa statutes and contract documents. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities or irregularities.
