The project consists of professional design services necessary to restore a 40' wide, 1/2 mile long, landscaped median and associated infrastructure damaged by a tornado. Restoration elements are anticipated to include, but are not limited to: 1. Removal/replacement of damaged and removed trees within the median. 2. Under-canopy and supplemental landscape planting within the median 3. Landscape planting and restoration, considering sustainable planting practices and incorporating flexibility in the design for future enhancements (such as art) at select locations, where appropriate. 4. Irrigation system evaluation, repair, and/or replacement 5. Street lighting restoration or replacement 6. Turf restoration 7. Coordination with existing roadway and traffic operations The City anticipates that the project will be delivered as a publicly bid construction project, with City staff managing bidding and construction administration. Construction phase services provided by the consultant will be limited. The City of Clayton, Missouri is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified consulting firms to provide professional engineering and landscape architectural design services for the restoration of the 40' wide landscaped median along Wydown Boulevard from University Avenue to the eastern City Limits (0.5 mile), which was significantly damaged by a tornado event. The project will focus on restoration of the median to its pre-tornado condition and is anticipated to include trees, irrigation, landscaping, lighting, turf restoration, and related streetscape elements. This procurement will be conducted in accordance with Missouri Revised Statutes Sections 8.285 through 8.291 (qualifications-based selection).
