This project involves the reconstruction of four alleys, three of which are concrete and one of which is a permeable alley. Work shall include a combination of excavation and backfill of the alley areas; removal and replacement of driveway and sidewalk and of PCC curb & gutter; sub drain; placement of storage and filter aggregate; permeable interlocking clay brick paver installation, seeding, and concrete, asphalt or gravel driveway replacement. Proposals will only be accepted electronically on the Quest CDN website. Each Form of Proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Security as defined. The successful Bidder shall furnish to the City a performance bond and a payment bond, both in the amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. Contractors must register with QuestCDN.com to be considered a Planholder for bids. Downloading electronic contract documents is encouraged, but hard copies may be obtained by appointment. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. Resident bidders are allowed preference as against nonresident bidders per state law. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form may result in rejection. Contractors and approved Subcontractors will receive a Sales Tax Exemption Certification for building materials for the project.
