Replacement of (7) Skylights on the existing media center roof. Approximately 600 SF in total horizontal area of skylight openings. Existing portions of roof as indicated on drawings to be removed and replaced to match existing while maintaining existing roof warranty. Contractor to engage qualified testing agency to perform quality control testing. The work involves the Skylight Replacement at the James Caldwell High School. Bidders are required to use and complete all bid forms and comply with the requirements contained in the instructions and specifications. Every bid must be accompanied by an unconditional certified check payable to the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education or a bid bond in an amount of ten percent of the base bid not exceeding $20,000, and a Certificate of Consent of Surety. Bidders and all general construction and subcontractors must be prequalified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, and have a valid Notice of Classification prior to the date that bids are received. Bidders must be prequalified in one of the following categories: C008 General Construction, C009 General Construction/Alteration & Additions, or C068 Roofing Membrane Modified Bitumen. All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act. Business Registration Certificates from the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Revenue are also required. No bidder on the State Treasurer's or Federal Government's List of Debarred, Suspended, or Disqualified Bidders is eligible. Bids are to be submitted in sealed envelopes with the project name plainly marked on the front. Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty days from opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive to the requirements. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality if it is in its best interest.
