The project consists of the construction of an addition and renovation at Pleasant Valley High School, involving a one-story building with a mezzanine of masonry and steel construction totaling approximately 21,780 square feet, plus interior renovation work and associated site work. The Project which is located at 604 Belmont Road, Riverdale, Iowa involves the construction activities as required by the contract documents which shall include: Addition and Renovation at the Pleasant Valley High School. Lump-sum bids will be received for General Construction, including Mechanical and Electrical Construction. Instructions to bidders include: - Bids must be sealed and delivered to the specified Board Room before the deadline. Late or misdelivered bids will not be considered. - A Pre-Bid Conference will be held, and attendance is encouraged but not required. - Bidding documents can be reviewed at designated locations or obtained for a refundable deposit. - Bidders must provide a security deposit in the form of a Bid Bond, cashier's or certified check, or share draft, not less than 5 percent of the Base Price/Sum, payable to Pleasant Valley Community School District. - The successful bidder must furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. - Bids must remain irrevocable for 30 days after submission. - The project is tax-exempt; do not include Iowa State Sales Tax in bid totals. - Bidders should give preference to products and provisions produced or grown within Iowa. - A completed Bidder Status Form must be submitted, signed by an authorized representative. - All bids will be governed by Iowa Code and school district policies, including those regarding non-discrimination and equal opportunity. - The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, to waive informalities or irregularities allowed by law, and to enter into contracts as deemed in the best interest of the district. - Plans, specifications, and prior proceedings related to the improvements are part of the notice and contract by reference.
