The scope of work will include removing, replacing and warenteeing the replacement of tile, plaster, and repairing the nessisary structural componetns and decorative features. The City of Ouray is seeking qualified contractors to submit proposals for resurfacing, repairing, and retiling the Overlook Pool at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and Fitness Center. The Ouray Hot Springs requests that contractors propose an implementation schedule within the months of April and May. Preference will be given to proposals that allow all work to be completed and the Overlook Pool reopened prior to 6/20/2026. Set up temporary fencing or barricades as necessary to ensure safety and restrict unauthorized access. Pump out pool water using appropriate equipment and discharge in compliance with all local and state regulations. Demolition and Surface Preparation Remove all existing plaster, tile caulk, and loose or deteriorated materials down to a sound concrete substrate. Clean and prepare the tile line, coping, and step or ledge surfaces to ensure proper bonding of new plaster. Remove and replace any damaged main drain grates or covers as required. Tile and Coping Work o Remove and reset loose or damaged waterline tile. o Re-grout or re-caulk tile joints using pool-grade silicone or epoxy grout. All specified materials and adhesives must be warranted for temperatures up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Install return fittings, main drain covers, suction fittings, and lights in accordance with current codes. New plastic or ABS fittings shall be installed if existing components are damaged. Skimmers, returns, drains, and light niches must be capped or protected during plastering. All work shall be performed in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Cleanup and Site Restoration o Remove all debris, old plaster, equipment, and protective coverings from the site. o Protect all landscaping, sidewalks, and surrounding site features. Any damage shall be fully remediated prior to the final site walkthrough. o All work shall comply with local building codes, ordinances, and regulations, with particular attention to local noise ordinances. Work shall be scheduled accordingly. o Haul away and dispose of all demolition waste and wastewater in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
