Sealed bids are invited for the North Cumberland Elementary School Renovation in Crossville, Tennessee. Prospective bidders may obtain electronic access to the bid documents upon request from the architect. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond for five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to execute a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price or other security as described in Tennessee Code Annotated 12-4-201 for 25% of the contract sum. Bonds must be accompanied by Power of Attorney. Bids may not be withdrawn for thirty days after opening. All bidders must be licensed contractors as required by Tennessee law, and the bid envelope must include the bidder's name and license number. The contractor is responsible for verifying that all construction forces have met the State of Tennessee Background Check. The bid envelope cover sheet must be completely filled out, or the bid will be returned unopened. The contractor may begin work in the facility on June 1, 2026, and all work must be complete by August 1, 2026. The contractor shall execute the work diligently and regularly to ensure completion within the specified time. Liquidated damages of $1,000 per day will be assessed for delays unless excusable delays (e.g., strikes, riots, change orders) are approved by the owner and architect.
