Sealed proposals will be received electronically by the City of Altoona, Department of Public Works, for the 8TH STREET SIDEWALK & ADA RAMPS PROJECT 6TH AVENUE TO CRAWFORD AVENUE. Work performed on this project is to be as per current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Publication 408, as amended and revised. Bidding documents are available at no cost online. Either an original Certified Check, Official Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the "City of Altoona" equal to ten percent of the amount of the bid must be submitted with the proposal. The Bid Bond must be in effect for a period of sixty days from the bid opening date. The City of Altoona reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality not material to the bid and to award the contract as may be deemed to the best interest of the City of Altoona. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty days after the actual date of the opening thereof. All responsive bidders/contractors shall follow the disadvantaged business enterprise procedures set forth in the bid packet/contract documents. Disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award.
