The project consists of sidewalk replacement and construction within the City of Valparaiso. Additional construction activities include ADA ramp removal and replacement, concrete aprons, and minor concrete curb work. The contractor is also responsible for maintenance of traffic. Proposals must be completed on the official Bid Form and accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation of receipt of Addenda (if issued), and satisfactory bid security. A certified or cashier's check payable to the City of Valparaiso or a bid bond in an amount equal to five percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. The successful bidder must provide a Performance and Payment Bond each for one hundred percent of the contract amount. Bidders must be experienced in constructing the type of facilities included in this contract. The contractor is required to enroll in and verify the work eligibility status of all newly hired employees through the E-Verify program. The contractor must also comply with regulations prohibiting contracts with persons engaged in investment activities in Iran and meet the City's responsible bidding practices by providing all required materials with the bid documents and complying with all provisions. The City will consider the total base bid and other relevant factors in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding as deemed in the public interest.
