Demolition for a mixed-use development in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a industrial development.

The work consists of demolition of the Hempfield Area School District Maintenance Garage located at 3740 PA Route 136, Greensburg, PA 15601, and a single-family residential structure located at 4361 PA Route 136, Greensburg, PA 15601. The Maintenance Garage is a 17,500 sf single-story wooden structure that has been damaged in a windstorm, closed, and stabilized with supplementary structural bracing, to be demolished. It is adjacent to the Facilities Department building, separated by a masonry fire wall that is to remain. Existing electrical equipment in two locations within the existing garage are to be enclosed with new construction to protect the equipment prior to demolition of the garage. The residential structure is a free-standing 1,568 sf two-story brick house with a basement; service connections (electrical, water, sewer) to this building are to be extended to the existing free-standing garage onsite. Electronic copies of bidding documents will be available in PDF only, sent by the Architect via file transfer email. Only full sets will be issued. All information, substitution requests, and correspondence must be submitted in writing to the Architect’s administrative account. Addenda will be issued in electronic format to registered document holders. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held for familiarizing bidders with requirements and to answer questions. All potential bidders are required to attend; potential sub-bidders and suppliers are encouraged to attend. A bid bond executed by the bidder and issued by a surety company approved by and in favor of the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, must be submitted with each bid to guarantee entrance into a contract if awarded. The successful bidder must provide a 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond. Bids may not be withdrawn for thirty (30) days without Owner consent. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and make selections in its own best interest.
