Description

Renovation of a mixed-use development in West Haven, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

Provide steam coil replacement services for AHU-3 serving the Operating Room Suite at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven. Work includes furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and disposal necessary to remove the failed coil and install a new face-end bypass coil, including associated piping, fittings, insulation, electrical reconnections, and start-up testing. Tasks include performing lock-out/tag-out in accordance with Medical Center Policy 138-075, coordinating necessary hot-work permitting, protecting existing equipment, disconnecting controls through VA-coordinated support, removing obstructive piping and panels, installing new components to manufacturer specifications, reconnecting electrical systems, restoring valves and drives to service, inspecting for leaks, and verifying proper system operation. The contractor must perform all work during regular business hours, coordinate all activities with the VA COR and Facilities Management Service, comply with all VA, OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, and safety standards, and manage site access, debris removal, and protective measures. A one-year minimum warranty on parts, labor, and workmanship is required, with all submittals and final documentation due within ten business days after completion.
