Renovation of a municipal facility in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The contractor shall install a potable water fire suppression system in parallel with existing foam suppression system within the hazardous waste building, sourced from the new fire water stub-up located on the Northwest side of the building, as provided by others. The new fire suppression system shall tie into the existing fire sprinkler system serving south building complex (office wings). The new sprinkler system shall connect to the existing fire alarm panel as required. Contractor to discharge fire sprinkler drain to the hub drain provided by others. Fire Watch, when required, shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. After tie-in, testing and acceptance, the contractor shall do the following: drain the AFFF/PFAS foam suppression system and place in holding tanks for collection by others; demolish and dispose of the AFFF/PFAS foam suppression systems including but not limited to tanks, associated pipes and components in accordance with all applicable regulations. PROJECT NO. 5113053 / CONTRACT NO. 997393 Estimated Construction Cost: $510,000 Estimated Contract Time: 180 days The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the bid documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the work. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Direct all questions to the listed Contract Administrator. UCI reserves the right to reject any or all responses to this notice, to waive non-material irregularities, and to deem Contractors prequalified for the project. To prequalify, Contractors must agree to comply with all conditions including state prevailing wages, 10% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds, and insurance requirements. The successful Contractor will hold a current and active C-16 Fire Protection Contractor license. One (1) commercial, industrial, institutional, or higher education project LOCATED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR WHICH YOUR FIRM SERVED AS THE PRIME CONTRACTOR and for which the construction cost of the FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS SCOPE OF WORK was at least $350,000. Three (3) projects in which the contractor has INSTALLED, TESTED, AND COMMISSIONED COMPLETE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR NEW OR EXISTING BUILDINGS. Provide detailed scope of work for fire suppression system in description section such as building information, system size and type, number of sprinkler heads, and any other relevant specifications. Three (3) projects that were constructed IN AN OCCUPIED BUILDING for which the construction cost was at least $350,000 EACH. At least one (1) project for which your firm SELF-PERFORMED AT LEAST 30% of the construction.
