Demolition, site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, and services necessary to provide a complete replacement of the traffic signal system at California Avenue and Arroyo Drive and perform modification to the intersection resulting in a fully functional and safe signalized intersection for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. The work includes but is not limited to the following: demolition, construction and striping of new pedestrian walkways and curb-cuts at the four corners of the intersection; construction of a new median on the north leg of California Avenue and fence additions to the existing median on the south leg; coordination with SCE for install of SCE meter at existing transformer located at Arroyo Drive; installation of power to existing transformer and electrical connections; traffic and pedestrian wayfinding signage and lighting; landscape and irrigation enhancements at the area of work. UCI will furnish and contractor will install the specified signal poles, luminaires, shorting caps, IISNS equipment, modules for IISNS, and metered service pedestal. The contractor shall assume assignment of associated equipment purchase agreements and all related responsibilities. The contractor must furnish and install all other items not provided by UCI. Pre-qualification requirements: General Contractors must hold General Engineering (A) and Electrical (C-10) Contractor licenses. Experience must include three projects in California conforming to Caltrans Standard Plans with a value of at least $500,000 each; three projects with a traffic signal installation scope valued at least $1,000,000 each; three projects including installation of new traffic signals, safety lighting, electrical systems, signing, striping and concrete work; two projects including new asphalt pavement, median and sidewalks; and one project in which the firm self-performed at least 30% of the construction.
