Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Glenolden, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
THE WORK: Demolition and Site Clearance of 1011 Clifton Avenue & 1100 Hook Road, Sharon Hill, Delaware County, PA. All areas disturbed during construction shall be restored to its original condition or better. The Contractor shall be responsible to replace any curb, sidewalk, signage, parking meter, etc. per the lump sum site restoration item. No additional monies will be given to the Contractor to restore the site. All pavement restoration areas shall be neat, straight, joint lines. Narrow asphalt strips between curb and trench will not be acceptable. Online sealed bids are requested for the Building Demolition of 1011 Clifton Avenue and 1100 Hook Road. All bid documents, construction plans, and specifications are available online via the PennBid Program at no cost to prospective bidders. The successful bidder will be required to pay a PennBid Program fee equal to 1/3 of 1% of the contract award value, with a minimum fee of $150.00 and a maximum fee of $6,000.00. Bidders must confirm and are responsible for these fees. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the site. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid, payable to Darby Township. Stipulated requirements include compliance with Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates, Public Works Employment Verification, insurance requirements, equal opportunity provisions, a payment bond and performance bond each for 100% of the contract price, and a one-year maintenance bond for 10% of the contract price. The Board reserves rights to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities in the best interest of the Township. . Traffic Control/Protection - The Contractor shall provide adequate traffic control in accordance with PA DOT Standards. Road closures must be approved in advance by the Township. At the end of each work day, work area shall be properly cleaned and protected with operational lighted barricades. No trench greater than 5' shall be left open. The open trench shall be protected with safety fence and lighted barricades. Concrete form work shall also be properly protected with high visibility safety tape. All materials shall be stockpiled to maintain adequate vehicular traffic (minimum 16' wide passage) and pedestrian traffic (i.e. DO NOT BLOCK SIDEWALK). Access to all driveways shall be maintained. B. Existing Sewer - The operation of the existing sewer system shall be maintained at all times during the construction period. C. Tree Removal/Trimming - The Contractor shall not remove or trim any trees without the approval of the Municipality. D. Erosion Control - The Contractor shall install and maintain all erosion control measures. Any necessary trench dewatering shall be pumped into a sediment filter bag prior to discharge. E. All excavation shall be unclassified and shall include all materials excavated, regardless of character. No specific payment will be made for excavation. The unit price and lump sum bid items shall include all excavation and backfill. F. Resident Notification - Contractor shall notify residents at least 48 hours in advance of starting construction. Form of notification must be approved by Engineer. G. Utilities - Utilities shown on plans are approximate only. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to field verify existing utilities. Utility protection, relocation or adjustments shall be the Contractor's responsibility. H. Incidental Work - Any work not expressly shown in the form of proposal, but required for completion of the project, shall be considered incidental. I. Permits/Contractor License - Permits and construction license for construction activities will be required for all contractors and subcontractors at the Contractor and Subcontractors expense.
