Renovation of a library in North Tonawanda, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
Sealed bids are solicited from general contractors for construction work involving a new exit door and main entrance renovation at the North Tonawanda Public Library. Bids must be prepared and submitted according to bidding and contract documents and accompanied by references for similar projects and a bid security of ten percent of the bid amount. Contractors are required to have at least five years of successful experience in similar projects and must provide a list of completed projects with project names, addresses, owners, and consultants. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond, each for 100% of the contract amount. The project requires completion by Friday, August 28, 2026. The project is partially funded by DASNY grants, and participation of minority and women-owned business enterprises is encouraged, with goals set at 17% for women-owned and 13% for minority-owned businesses. Contractors are expected to support and cooperate with these requirements. Bid documents can be examined (free of charge) or purchased (for a non-refundable fee by certified check) at Avalon Document Services. Personal checks or cash are not accepted. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the project location. Questions after this meeting must be submitted in writing by the specified deadline to the project architect. All addenda will be sent via email. Minority and women-owned business enterprises will be afforded equal opportunity without discrimination for any reason.
