As of April 20, 2026 project was awarded to R&R Horn Contractors, awarded amount is $2,458,010.50 The work consists of the rehabilitation of pavement along approximately 2.8 miles of South Park Drive within Lower Bidwell Park, from Cypress Street/Woodland Avenue to Centennial Avenue. The objective is to improve the condition and functionality of South Park Drive while enhancing safety, accessibility, and environmental stewardship. Planned improvements include roadway reconstruction using Full Depth Reclamation with cement (FDR-C) and HMA paving, shoulder backing, new and updated signage, thermoplastic markings and striping, minor HMA overlay of pedestrian paths, and new vehicle exclusion gates. HMA paving of three existing gravel parking areas within the One-Mile Recreation Area are included as additive bid items and may be incorporated into the final scope of work at the City's sole discretion.
