Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Juneau, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project constructs a new 130-foot long single-span bridge structure, that is 10-feet wide. Work includes all materials & workmanship to complete a new transfer structure rated for H10/H20 loads crossing Montana Creek, starting at the end of Montana Creek Road (milepoint 1.67). Additionally, repair approximately 550-feet of gravel trail, and stabilize streambanks in the vicinity of the bridge abutments. This project was selected in the 2023 DOT&PF Transportation Alternatives Program solicitation. As of February 25, 2026, this project is included in the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities FY 2024-2027 STIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
