The Project consists of applying Highly Modified Emulsified Asphalt (HIMA) Micro Surfacing, Types II and III, as part of the 2026 Street Preservation Project No. ST26MS. The Work includes approximately 34,135 square yards of Type III micro surfacing for rut filling and approximately 78,515 square yards, or 9 lane miles, of Type II micro surfacing as a lane seal. Starts and stops will be designated by the City of Bend, Streets and Operations Department. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, signage, traffic control, and all other incidentals necessary to provide a HIMA Micro Seal, additional details are provided in Exhibit F - Technical Specifications. The HIMA Micro Surfacing mixture shall consist of an approved Polymer Modified Cationic Quick Set - 1 (with) Elastomeric Polymer (PMCQS-1EP), mineral aggregate, water, and specified additives. The mixture shall be proportioned, mixed and uniformly applied over a properly prepared asphalt surface. The Engineers estimate is $443,388 to $513,398 Purpose of Project: Applying HIMA Micro Surfacing Seal will form a homogeneous mat, firmly adhered to the prepared surface, and will provide a durable, skid-resistant texture extending the service life of local streets within the City of Bend.
