Site work for a water / sewer project in Centralia, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Bids shall be submitted for water main replacement along Jolliff Bridge Road from Walmart to Kaskaskia College Water Tower (Phase I - New Water Treatment Plant to Existing 12" Main from Old Water Treatment Plant). Conditional or qualified bids will not be accepted. Project insurance and bonding requirements must be followed. Each bid proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of at least five percent of the amount bid, drawn payable to the City of Centralia as security for the proper execution of the contract. Bids from partnerships or joint ventures will not be acceptable. The OWNER reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bids should it consider same to be in the best interest of the OWNER. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty days after date of receiving and opening bids. The Illinois Dept. of Labor prevailing wages shall apply to the project and hiring preference shall be given to Illinois citizens. Contractor(s) shall pay prevailing wages at rates not less than those prevailing under the Davis-Bacon Wage Act.
