This project includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for Bid Packages #02 to #13 for the renovation of the Existing Waukee Fire/Police Building at 1300 SE LA Grant Parkway in Waukee. The work involves renovation of the approximately 25,000 SF facility, updating the office and living spaces, apparatus bays and doors, converting portions of the apparatus bays for fitness and turnout gear areas, updating the front entry and shared lobby area, and improvements or repairs to exterior masonry, gutters, downspouts, and site paving. Most mechanical and electrical systems are to be updated for the building's new functions and layout. Bid Packages include: General Construction, Concrete, Masonry, Framing/Drywall/ACT, Overhead Doors, Painting, Tile & Flooring, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Earthwork & Utilities. Bids must comply with Instructions to Bidders, be prepared on the provided forms, and submitted sealed by the stated deadline. Each bid requires a bid security of 5% of the bid amount. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain required bonds and insurance. The project is tax exempt. Monthly estimates will be paid at 97% of work completed, with final payment upon project acceptance and evidence of all claims being settled. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder based on the total base bid with any combination of alternates selected by the Owner. Bidders must provide a statement regarding resident status as required by Department of Labor rules. All work must be completed by the specified substantial completion date.
