Site work for a military facility in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Conceptual plans call for site work for a military facility.
This sources sought notice is issued to identify potential contractors capable of performing the demolition, removal, and reconstruction of the Bahia de Guayanilla Entrance Range Rear Light (LLNR 32075) at the U.S. Coast Guard Aids to Navigation (ANT) Puerto Rico. Work includes providing all labor, tools, equipment, materials, supervision, and transportation for removing the existing metal tower and steel piles down to the mudline, disposing of all debris, and surveying and marking the structure's location for reconstruction. A new James River Ice Resistant Structure (JRIRS) will be constructed, including steel pile-supported platform foundations, a four-pile steel dolphin, and an eight-foot square steel platform with fiberglass grating. A king pile and three batter piles will be driven to refusal or a minimum of 45 tons, with an assumed embedment depth of 50 feet. The platform will be set at 10 feet above Mean Lower Low Water based on NAVD 88. A ten-foot-high steel skeleton tower will be mounted on the platform to support solar panels, day boards, batteries, and light signals, which will be installed separately by U.S. Coast Guard personnel. The tower is to be fabricated off-site, transported, and installed with anchor bolts. A final position survey of the completed structure is required. The contractor must provide 72-hour written notice before removal of existing lights and day boards, and again before installation of new equipment once construction is complete and inspected. The performance period is 180 calendar days. The estimated value of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
