The Sikeston R-6 School District is accepting sealed bid proposals for the SCTC Expansion and Renovations – Area C at 1401 E. Malone Ave., Sikeston, MO. Bids must be sealed, labeled appropriately, and submitted to the Office of the Superintendent at 1002 Virginia Street, Sikeston, MO. Electronic Bid Documents will be available free of charge through the architect's online plan room or by contacting the architect's office. Printed bid documents can be requested for a non-refundable fee, with additional shipping charges if needed. Addenda will be issued to all plan holders who obtained documents through the architect, and it is the bidder’s responsibility to verify issuance of addenda. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the site, and attendance is required for bidding contractors. Bids must follow the Instructions to Bidders in the Project Manual and include a Surety Bid Bond equal to five percent of the bid amount. The selected General Contractor must provide Performance and Payment Surety Bonds for the full contract amount, which should be included in the bid. The District is tax-exempt, so sales tax should not be included. Bids must be lump sum for each section of work; segregated bids are not accepted. Bids will be evaluated in the Owner’s best interest and awarded to the lowest and best qualified bidder, with the Owner reserving approval of subcontractors and the right to waive irregularities or reject any bids. Contractors must ensure equal employment opportunity, pay no less than the minimum wages as set forth in the Contract Documents, and comply with Missouri Prevailing Wage Rates.
