The extent of work includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of Valley Junction Alleys - Phase 10, which consists of approximately 118 SY of Granular Surfacing, 2,172 SY of 6" PCC Pavement with 2,197 SY Modified Subbase, as well as Excavation, Construction Staking, Traffic Control, Subdrain, and related items. All work must adhere strictly to the approved plans and specifications on file. Bids must be submitted on the provided form through wdm.ionwave.net and must include a scanned copy of a bid bond or cashier's/certified check from an Iowa or U.S. bank, equalling ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount. The successful bidder is required to enter into a contract at the bid prices, furnish a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price, and provide a four-year maintenance guarantee from acceptance. Work must commence within ten (10) days of written notice to proceed and be completed by October 31, 2026, with each alley closure limited to four consecutive weeks. Liquidated damages of $500.00 per day apply for late completion or extended alley closures. Preference is given to Iowa products, coal, and domestic labor, with additional preference rules for resident bidders as set by Iowa statutes. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form may result in rejection of the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any technicalities or irregularities in the process.
