Sealed bids are sought from experienced and eligible contractors for renovations at Lakeside and Northwood Middle Schools. Each bid must include all labor, material, and services necessary to complete the projects in strict accordance with the prepared drawings and specifications. Bids are to be submitted from a single prime contractor. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, a cashier’s check, or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Indiana in an amount equal to five percent of the bid, made payable to Fort Wayne Community Schools. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract amount shall be required by the successful bidder no later than ten days after contract execution. All contracts and payments are conditioned on obtaining sufficient financing or other funds and may be terminated at the option of Fort Wayne Community Schools if funds are insufficient. Fort Wayne Community Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities, and assign contracts to a non-profit building corporation without consent from other parties. Bids may not be withdrawn or cancelled for sixty days without consent. Plans, specifications, instructions to bidders, and bid forms are available at Eastern Engineering’s Virtual Planroom or their office. A refundable deposit is required for each set of plans and specifications, limited to one set per contractor.
