Description of Work Included: Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, pennits and insurance necessary to strip, remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials in accordance with the Contract Documents. Furnish all labor, materials, necessary tools, expendable equipment, disposal, and transportation services necessary to perform and complete asbestos abatement work in a workmanlike manner and comply with all terms and conditions in accordance with the specifications and drawings for the Summer 2026 Asbestos Removal Project at Clio High School, C Wing, Clio, Michigan, for Clio Area Schools. To be considered, bids must be made in accordance with the provided instructions. Bidders must carefully examine all documents and the construction site to obtain first-hand knowledge of existing conditions. All questions concerning the specifications are to be submitted to the Consultant. The bidder shall include all stipulated items required with the Bid Package; failure to comply may be cause for rejection. No segregated bids or assignments will be considered. Required documentation includes a completed bid form, State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity Asbestos Abatement Contractor License, Certificate of Insurance for asbestos abatement, a notarized statement that the prime firm will perform removal and not subcontract the project, a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposal, performance bond, a sworn and notarized familial relationship disclosure statement, and an Iran economic sanctions act form. All bids must be received at the address provided by the specified deadline. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed best qualified to perform the work and who meets the requirements. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting/contractor walk-through. The prime contractor must have been in business under its present name and ownership for the last ten years and have completed four recent similar projects. Contractors/subcontractors must comply with Michigan School Safety Legislation criminal/security requirements. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
