Sealed bids are invited for Port Improvements to Dock Modifications for New Portal-Mounted Mobile Harbor Cranes (LPS1 & LPS2) at BT-1, located in Calcasieu Parish. This is a heavy construction project for the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District. Bids must be submitted on the specified forms, prepared in accordance with Section 2 of the 2018 Edition of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Office of Multimodal Commerce, General Provisions and must contain all required information. All bids must include a proposal guaranty of 5% of the bid amount. Bid forms are available from the Engineer and will not be issued later than 24 hours before the bid opening. Contract documents may be downloaded from www.bidexpress.com. Plans and specifications are available for viewing at the Engineer's office and may be obtained from the District upon payment of $100, with refunds available for bona fide prime bidders upon return of documents. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination. All requirements of LA R.S.38 2212 and the Bidzing Documents must be adhered to, and the right is reserved to reject bids and waive informalities. The work under this Section consists of the fabrication and installation of new 18-inch square precast/prestressed concrete piles required for the BT-1 Dock Modifications Project at the Port of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment, utilities, and incidental items necessary to complete the work as shown on the Contract Documents and specified herein. 3.1.2. The requirements for Pile Dynamic Analysis (PDA) testing of select piles are also included in this Section. PDA testing is not anticipated for this project; however, the Contractor shall provide a separate unit price or lump sum allowance for PDA testing. PDA testing shall be performed only when directed in writing by the Port of Lake Charles.
